FAQs

In order to maintain the value of your wooden furniture for as long as possible, you should handle it carefully and maintain the valuable pieces of furniture correctly and regularly to prevent scratches and stains.
Depending on whether the wood has been painted, oiled or waxed, it reacts differently to dust, water and other influences. Therefore it is important to adjust the cleaning and care of wooden furniture to the respective surface.

Care for painted furniture:

Painted furniture is well protected against moisture and dirt and easy to clean. To remove fingerprints and other minor traces of dirt, it is best to wipe the painted surfaces with a damp cloth.

In case of coarser signs of dirt you can use e.g. ADLER Clean Möbelreingier. This furniture cleaner (spray bottle) can be applied with a damp cloth or sprayed on directly and then wiped dry. Common household detergents often contain abrasive particles that scratch the paint and should therefore not be used.

Our product Clean-Möbelpflege Plus is suitable for gently maintaining and touching up furniture surfaces down into the pores. You can apply this care product about once or twice a year after cleaning the surfaces. The furniture care product forms a protective film on the wood surface against contamination and is also water-repellent. In addition, the gloss or matt finish level of the furniture surface is retained.

Care for oiled furniture:

Slight traces of dirt on oiled surfaces can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Heavier soiling, stains and grease can be removed without leaving any residue with Legno-Reiniger. For gentle maintenance and touching up, we recommend treating the surfaces annually with a special wood care oil.

The surface must be dry and free of dust and grease. Apply the care oil thinly and evenly with a cloth. After approx. 5 - 10 minutes, wipe out the excess well in the direction of the grain.
In the case of more worn, damaged areas or scratches, you can easily sand the affected areas (in the direction of the grain) and then re-apply the care oil.

Care for waxed furniture:

Care for waxed furniture: In contrast to oil, wax only penetrates the surface of the wood and hardens after a certain time. The natural colour and texture of a waxed wood surface is not emphasised as much as with oiled surfaces.
It is best to clean the surfaces with a damp cloth or a suitable furniture cleaner, e.g. Clean-MöbelreinigerLegno-Reiniger also works very well here against greasy dirt.
For touch up and maintenance work, you can apply ADLER Legno-Wachs and remove the excess after an exposure period of approx. 5 - 10 minutes.

Critical for the correct maintenance of floors is whether it is a sealed parquet or laminate floor or whether your floor has been oiled.

Care for sealed parquet floors / laminate floors:

You can use Clean-Parkettreiniger to regularly clean these floors. You can simply add this cleaner to the water and clean the floor with it using a damp cloth.

Coarser dirt can also be removed directly with Clean-Parkettreiniger.

The clean and dry floor can then be treated with Clean-Parkettpflege. This care product forms a very thin and resistant protective film on the surface. Your floor is thus better protected against abrasion, water or common household dirt.

Care for oiled floors:

You can very easily clean your oiled floors and touch them up at the same time with Legno-Holzbodenseife. To do this, simply add Legno-Holzbodenseife to the water used for wiping and moisten the floor with it (Attention: oiled floors should never be wiped "too wet").

For floors that are already more heavily worn or also for selectively damaged spots you can treat the affected areas with Legno-Pflegeöl. The surfaces can be lightly sanded as required and must be clean, dry and free of grease before carrying out maintenance. Then the care oil is applied with a cloth, for example, and the excess is wiped off again after an exposure period of approx. 5 - 10 minutes.
Please make sure that you wipe off the care oil very well in order to prevent too long drying times.
