Burnt Wood – Character in its most powerful shape
The Burnt Wood effect creates deeply textured, expressive surfaces reminiscent of naturally charred wood. The grain is intensely highlighted through heavy texturing, a multi-layered build-up and the targeted use of effect products. Dark pigmentation and patina techniques create an impressive sense of depth and an authentic burnt appearance. The result is not only visually striking but can also be experienced through touch.
The materials
The following products and tools are required for the Burnt Wood effect:
- Aduro Legnopur G10 – base and top coat
- Pigmopur G50 black – for intense pigmentation
- Aduro Crackle Effect – for the characteristic formation of crack
- Arova Dirty Effect black, and white – for creating a patina
You will also need:
- Metal wire brush
- Anderlon brush
- Sanding sponges (incl. K220)
- Clean, lint-free cloth
Steps

Step 1: Texturing the surface
Brush the wooden surfaceäche vigorously with a metal-bristled brushürste to bring out the grain. Thenßend brush it with an Anderlon brushürsteürste to remove any loose wood fibres.

Step 2: Levelling, priming and finishing ( & )
Smooth the surfaceä using an abrasive sponge, working across the grain, and remove all dustä thoroughly. Then apply one generous coat of Aduro Legnopur G10. Allow to dry in accordanceäß with the technical specifications.

Step 3: Prepare the skin for pigmentation &
Once dry, perform intermediate sanding using a K220 sanding sponge. Then apply one generous coat of Pigmopur G50 black. Allow to dry for approx. 60 minutes.

Step 4: Create a crackle effect
Apply the Aduro Crackle effect evenly. Then allow the surfaceäche über Nacht vollständig to dry thoroughly overnight so that the crackle texture develops to its full potential.

Step 5: Build up the black depths
After the crackle effect has set, apply a top coat of Pigmopur G50 black. This enhances the contrast and sense of depth. Leave to dry overnight.

Step 6: Creating a patina
Apply a 1:1 mixture of Arova Dirty Effect black and whi&; evenly across the entire surface&. Wipe off in patches with a clean cloth until the desired patina and depth of colour&is achieved.

Step 7: Protection & Finishing
Finally, the surface is finished with Aduro Legnopur G10. The top coat protects the finish and ensures&a durable, high-quality surface.
