The right brush:
When buying a brush you should always base your decision on the product you want to work with:
For solvent-based paints and finishes it is best to use brushes with thick bristles in order to avoid applying too much material on the surface. Brushes for solvent-based paints and finishes.

For water-based paints and finishes however you better use brushes whose bristles are split at the ends. This way more material is applied and the paint spreads better. Brushes for water-based paints.
