Aquawood Intermedio FLEX: Flexible flow coating – even on difficult types of wood!

Flow coating is a highly efficient coating method used in window manufacturing. However, until now it has not been possible to use it on woods with a high resin content, such as oak or Larch. With Aquawood Intermedio FLEX, ADLER is now launching a unique intermediate coat onto the market that allows for universal flow coating – on almost any type of wood and for both opaque and translucent finishes alike, thus eliminating the need for time-consuming changes of material in the flow coating system.

The flow coating process impresses with its cost-effectiveness and sustainability: low material consumption thanks to continuous paint recovery, minimal waste and low cleaning requirements are all arguments in favour of this popular coating technology. However, there were limitations: for certain types of wood, the amount of coating applied using the flow coating method was too low to prevent the wood extractives from bleeding through, resulting in unsightly yellowing. Window manufacturers were therefore inevitably forced to resort to spray application. Until now. ADLER has now succeeded in developing a flexible flow coating solution that is also suitable for woods rich in natural substances. With a new, highly efficient insulation package, Aquawood Intermedio FLEX delivers the best results – quickly, easily and sustainably!

One product for everything

The application is incredibly simple: the flow coating stage with the appropriate Aquawood Primo primer coat is followed by flow coating with Aquawood Intermedio FLEX. Transparent and opaque topcoats can then be applied. Aquawood Intermedio FLEX can be used equally well for both types of finish, eliminating the need for time-consuming colour changes and intermediate cleaning! This colourless, water-based intermediate coat, with its excellent flow properties and short drying times, enables particularly efficient working. “With this product, which is unique on the market, we support our customers in optimising their processes,” emphasises Richard Mölk, Head of the Window Industry and Industrial Timber Construction Division at ADLER. Always being there to support window manufacturers with flexibility – that is what makes ADLER a success!
